Slave to My Mikey

This is a great time of year to start a blog, since my favorite holiday is fast approaching — Valentine’s Day!  I love the planning, the excitement, the suspense, and of course, the romance of the actual day.  It beats Christmas and birthdays and every other holiday by far!  Only seven more days!!!  Squeeeee!!!

Heart Day this year will be the third I’ve spent with my wonderful Mikey.  I keep trying to come up with new ways to out-do our past celebrations, but I’m not having much luck.  We’ve had some seriously romantic Valentine’s Days!  Let’s review . . .

Our first year, we had been together for a few short months.  We were both nervous trying to plan anything, which of course made it especially fun. Mikey decided to cook me dinner at his apartment — even though he doesn’t cook often and isn’t exactly a gourmet chef. He decorated his place with rose petals and had delicious scented candles set out on the table.  He even used a table cloth.  For dinner, he prepared a yummy Italian meal using this cooking site, and for dessert we had chocolate mousse, my favorite.  

For my part, I wore something sexy that I knew he would like, and rented his favorite movie so that we could spend the evening together at his place.  I brought him flowers on the advice of a guy friend who reassured me that yes, men really do like flowers, and a small gift — a framed photo of the two of us.  The best part was that he gave me the same thing, one of his favorite pics of us together.  How cute is that?!

Last year, we decided to go away for a long weekend to celebrate Valentine’s Day.  Sexy, right?  It was the perfect weekend at a bed ‘n breakfast inn in Massachusetts.  Just so lovely!  

Can you see why I’m having so much trouble this year?  V-day is really special for us, and the past two years are going to be hard to top!  I am thinking maybe we should be kinkier than we have in the past . . . maybe setting up a private sexual retreat in one of our homes . . . getting some couple’s games and “adult toys” and making it both hot and romantic at the same time.  I think he’d be surprised, since he knows I am all lovey-dovey about heart day and more into cuddling and canoodling than sex.  

What do you think, oh wise internet?  I need help here!
